Basic Information
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: God

Hestia is the Greek goddess of the Hearth, Fire, Warmth, the Home, Family, Domesticity, and the State. She is the second oldest of the Twelve Olympians and is the firstborn child of Kronos and Rhea.

Hestia is described as beautiful and perfectly proportioned. Her smile is described as honest and she is known to be quite intelligent. She has brown eyes and black hair that is typically tucked under a linen shawl. Hestia is good-natured and gentle and doesn't say anything bad about anyone. She is very kind, much kinder than all of the other gods.

Brief History

Hestia is the oldest child of Kronos, the Titan King, and Rhea, a Titaness. When Hestia was born, Kronos was originally willing to be a good father to the child until he realised that she was more than just a Titaness. Instead of a Titaness, Hestia was a Goddess and would be able to overpower Kronos one day if she desired. In fear of the possibility of being overthrown, Kronos swallowed Hestia. The young goddess was unable to die so she remained alive in Kronos' stomach. It wasn't until Zeus was able to defeat their father temporarily that Hestia was finally able to escape Kronos' stomach.

After being free from Kronos, Hestia's first goal was to rescue the Elder Cyclopes and the Hekatonkheires from Tartarus where Kronos had locked them up. With the help of her brother Hades, the two were able to free the Elder Cyclopes and the Hekatonkheires.

With the assistance of the Hekatonkheires, Hestia and her siblings waged war against Kronos and the other Titans. They emerged triumphant from this war and took over from the Titans.

After the war, Hestia became the goddess of the Hearth and Family. Shortly after this, she secretly gave some of the sacred fire from the Olympian hearth to Prometheus as he wanted to give it to the humans. Prometheus was punished for this and in return, Hestia protected every mortal that was pursued, attacked, or in trouble as long as they made it to either a house's or a town's hearth.

Unlike her siblings, Hestia did not seek power. When Dionysus was accepted as a member of the Twelve Olympians, she happily gave her throne to him and made it her job to constantly tend the hearths.

Hestia has helped mortals a few times since Prometheus. Most of these incidents are restricted to when she helped various mortals in the Battle of Manhattan.
