How to identify the Sirens

You know you are in grave danger when you suddenly hear an enchanting song near the island of Anthemoessa in the sea of monsters. In the foaming waves, you spot two to five faces of people you know, but... they all have bird-like bodies with razor-sharp claws.
But you don't care. You are determined to get closer to these creatures – and from that moment on, you know that you are in grave danger if you dare to approach them.
With the help of telepathy, they recognise your deepest desires and use them to lure you to their island. Presumably... wreck your ship.
In case you haven't figured it out yet: we are talking about sirens.

Originally, the sirens were the servants and presumably also friends of the goddess Persephone. It is likely that they did not have bird bodies in the past, but when Persephone was abducted by Hades, they acquired their familiar appearance. This enabled them to fly away and search for Persephone. However, the search was unsuccessful, so they settled on the island of Anthemoessa.
They began to lure passing sailors with their song, who drowned when they tried to approach.

Only a few heroes were able to escape them. Thanks to Orpheus and his loud music, the Argonauts were able to drown out the song. Odysseus had himself tied to the mast of his ship and his crew stuffed their ears. Annabeth Chase also used this tactic, but she succumbed to the song. Percy Jackson discovered that the sirens could not be heard underwater and saved Annabeth by pulling her under the water.

Survivors gain wisdom, which is why the temptation to listen to the beguiling song is so great.

What to do, if you face the Sirens

1) Use the method of Odysseus and cover your ears, if you don't want to gain wisdom!
2) Control yourself! It helps not to be deceived by visions or emotional temptations. Focus!
3) Distract yourself and your crew with extremely loud music! I think heavy metal would be totally fine, right?
4) Go under water! That would be your safest method if you can swim!
