with Ebony Hance
Hello there and welcome to "Magical Mythology".
Your one stop blog with all the necessary facts, quizzes and lore you need, to scratch that Percy Jackson itch! If you love Percy Jackson and are passionate about Greek mythology, you've come to the right place! In the modern day world, it can be so easy for people to slip into the same old boring pattern of every day life. People often become so caught up in reality that they forget to dream. What is life without a little bit of mystery and magic after all? If we don't even allow ourselves to dream and appreciate the mysteries of life, how can we expect to be inspired? Life is full of stories. Mysteries of pasts gone by and things yet to come. Cultures and traditions and rich history that define the very people that we have become today. Haven't you ever stopped to wonder if just MAYBE the impossible things you are afraid to believe in might actually be possible? The fact that you are reading this blog alone shows that you, at the very least are drawn to the stories of greek mythology and MIGHT suspect that they are true. BUT if you think it's all just crazy stories? I mean hey... i get it. The idea of godly folk that reign from a temple on mount Olympus, (who may turn out to be your parents) and fighting off monsters every now and then, does seem pretty impossible to believe. Even the legendary Percy Jackson himself was skeptical about it all at first. However, there is something truly captivating about Greek mythology. Almost every single person that you have heard about in the Percy Jackson universe, are legendary in Greek mythology. The mysteries and legends or their stories, have been captivating many people (and demi-gods alike) for thousands of years. An alternative story of how the world came to be. From stories of the great Zeus, god of the sky, to tales of mythological creatures like hellhounds and furies, greek mythology gives us a peek into history. It's stories provide explanations for many unexplainable things. Like how the goddess Gaea emerged from the chaos in the void at the dawn of time and the earth came to be. It not only shows us how Greek religious beliefs began, but also tells about the ancient folklore from a time gone by. Mythology tells us of battles and victories, of great warriors and heroes who carved their places in history. There are lots of interesting facts and information from ancient Greek mythology, that modern people still believe in today. Speaking of facts... did you know that Perceus was ACTUALLY a hero in Greek mythology? Legend has it that he was a son of Zeus who slayed the Gordon Medusa, just as the prophecies claimed that he would. We of course know the truth. There are many heroes in greek mythology and stories of those who faced challenges too and while some stories in mythology had some not so happy endings, there is always an important lesson for us to learn from them. Like the importance of loyalty and not being greedy. Even king Midas learned about the things that were truly important in life, despite being granted the ability to turn everything he touched to gold. Who WOULDN'T want to learn about things like that?! If you suspect that you are one of us, I highly encourage you to believe in the impossible for a moment. Even if you have previously choosen to visit camp Half-blood by page, enjoyed it on screen, or even dismissed it as merely a myth.... we know the truth. We here at Camp Half-blood will be waiting with open arms. Come join us and follow in the footsteps of the legendary Percy Jackson and participate in fun classes, discover who your Godly parent is, and fight off a few monsters before breakfast of course! Looking forward to seeing you all at camp! Save travels and may the gods guide your path. Until next time, Ebony Mae Hance. A daughter of Zeus.
