This is Magical Mythology
with Ebony Hance
Hello there and welcome to "Magical Mythology".
Your one stop blog with all the necessary facts, quizzes and lore you need, to scratch that Percy Jackson itch! If you love Percy Jackson and are passionate about Greek mythology, you've come to the right place! You're probably wondering who on earth i am, what the heck is this "Camp Half-blood"place i keep talking about and just what the point of me sending out all these messages is. You see, if you're a camper, then you will soon become familiar with my weekly blog, but if you are a mortal or one of us, who are still out there, you're probably not. That is why it is so very important that this print out letter version of it, has made it into your hands. Well let me give you a little bit of context. I am a daughter of Zeus. Yep. That Zeus. The wise old guy in the sky. You see my mom is a mortal and well...let's just say she couldn't resist a greek god in the city of love. I mean come on, a date under the iconic Eiffle tower? We all know how stories that start like that end. So that's how i became a demi-god. Oh and the camp i keep mentioning? It's a safe haven for people like us. A training facility where we are protected from the monsters that are hunting us. Oh right. Monsters. Did I forget to mention that? Sure, being a demi-god has it's perks but it does also make us walking monster bait. I mean I personally would have preferred to have inherited other traits from my dad. Being a walking appetizer wasn't exactly on my cards, but hey. What are you gonna do right? Anyways, so i write this blog as a sort of educational post for mortals and demi-gods alike. For mortals its a way for me to educate them on demi-god etiquette. What do I mean you ask? Well you know that quiet kid in the corner you've been picking on? Yeah well it's possible he's a child of Hades who doesn't know it yet. You definitely don't want to mess with him. Oh and that girl with the crazy static hair? Probably a daughter of Zeus who doesn't quite have a handle on her abilities yet. You might want to stand a little away from her...to avoid any shocking encounters. For demi-gods...well one thing the gods are pretty useless at is communication, so consider this an instructional demonstration on how to get to camp and some of the greek mythology that you'll need to know. You see the mortals out there get it all back to front. They get all their facts mixed up and I don't know about you, but I'm definitely not about to tell them otherwise. For one thing they'd say I'm crazy and for another...walking monster bait remember? Anyways, the first thing you should know about camp Half-blood is that using none approved technology at camp is a no go. It's basically a monster magnet and brings the beasts right to us, so other than my camp director approved laptop, I have to rely on good old parchment and pen to get this letter out to you. Thankfully, we have the handy-dandy Hermes Express Postal Service that i can mail it through. Yes. THAT Hermes. Messenger of the gods. Honestly, he has the coolest shoes. So, granted that he is able to get my letters across the camp borders every week, you should be able to read my blog posts regularly. On that note, that's about all I have time to write and tell you this week. My hands are starting to cramp and the sun is setting fast. It's almost time for me to go and join the others around the campfire and sing some fun campfire songs. Keep an eye out for my blog next week. I'll have Hermes deliver it to the same place every week, so it's always accessible for those of you outside of camp. So on that note, if you suspect that you are one of us, I highly encourage you to make your way to camp. We here at Camp Half-blood will be waiting with open arms. Looking forward to seeing you all at camp! Save travels and may the gods guide your path. Until next time, Ebony Mae Hance. A daughter of Zeus.
