Hello there and welcome to "Magical Mythology".

Your one stop blog with all the necessary facts, quizzes and lore you need, to scratch that Percy Jackson itch! If you love Percy Jackson and are passionate about Greek mythology, you've come to the right place! Last time I wrote my article I told you all about camp halfblood. It is the place that myself and many other demi god's call home. Who knows some of you may even call it home at one point or another too. This week i would like to tell you how the camp came to be. Although it seems hard to believe as it has been around for so long, there was indeed a time that came Half Blood did not exist. It's establishment however, is extremely crucial to the survival of demi god kind. The camp half blood that we know today, is located in Long Island Sound New York. The camp was relocated to the base of Mount Olympus and serves as a safe haven and training grounds for demigods. Like I mentioned last letter being a demigod does have a few downsides and being basically monster bait is one of those such things. I mean sure facing the monster under the bed seems like no big deal but when it comes to hell hounds and furies and Chimera and other mythical creatures, having to battle one of these creatures seems a lot more daunting especially when all you have is a sword or a bow and arrow two. It is especially don't think when you have no fighting skills whatsoever how does one expect mere children to face these monsters simply because we have a little bit of Godly DNA in our blood? The thought seems almost crazy. This is the exact reason that Camp Half Blood was established. (edited)Saturday, March 7, 2026 1:19 AM It has been said that camp Half Blood started many years ago in ancient Greece at the base of mount Pelion. Mount Pelion was Chiron's home and as Chiron (a centaur) himself was tasked with training the first demigods that were sent there by Apollo, this is where the camp was established. One of these six demigods was the original Perseus Jackson whom Percy Jackson was named after by his mother Sally Jackson. When the camp was relocated to the base of Mount Olympus it was later relocated Westward along with Olympus to Long Island New York where we know it to be today. The camp was relocated when Western Civilization and Power shifted from ancient Greece to Rome and to the United States. The camp originally started out as just a large cave although it was later developed to include cabins, a big house, training grounds, stables and a dining Pavilion. The camp is also described as being the only safe and secure place for demigods. Originally the camp had way less protection from the monsters that stalk those within. Campers had a much harder time defending themselves and when the camp eventually gained its magical borders in order to protect it's residents, this became much easier. Although the camp borders are strong Talia Grace's selfless sacrifice and her transformation into a pine tree, further strengthened them. The golden fleece, which is a magical ancient artifact, which sits on Thalia's pine tree, further strengthens them too. The Golden fleece was collected by Jason Grace during his journey and he bought it back to camp and place it on the tree. This fleece is capable of growth and healing and can cure those who have been poisoned. It also has the ability to strengthen magical barriers which is why it's addition to the base of the pine tree, has been crucial and extremely beneficial to camp half blood. These magical borders also keep the camp securely hidden from mortal eyes. It's cover name is the Delphi strawberry service, as the camp is located near some Strawberry Fields. The camp got its cover name from the oracle of Delphi. Camp Half Blood as we know it today is now being run by Chiron and Dionysus. Yes that Dionysus. He's the god of wine who was St chat to lead Camp as punishment by his father Zeus when he pursued one of the nymphs that his father had told him not to. He seems to be rather miserable here although deep down we secretly think he likes it. After all how can one not be happy at Camp Half Blood? To all of us here, it is our home. Who knows maybe one of these days you will be sitting off down the same path as I did and find yourself at Camp Half Blood we are extremely grateful that it exists, we are thankful for all those who run it and take care of us and we are extremely grateful to call it home. On that note, if you suspect that you are one of us, I highly encourage you to make your way to camp. We here at Camp Half-blood will be waiting with open arms.
